May 25 - Getting Close!

So sorry for the delay in blogging - Getting ready for FACES Ride 4 Smiles and FACES Rally - so much to do...so little time! Nothing like a little pressure to get you going!

I've been busy trying out some different bikes and trying to decide if I want to ride my own Honda VTX 1800 or take up some generous offers to ride something different...I'm leaning towards my bike because I know it well and after all..it does say HippyChicKim on the tank. But we shall see! [yeah - I know she's dirty! Hard to wash a moving target!]

In the mean time, I've put maps up on the office wall - highlighted in yellow with the roads I plan to take. I wish I had more time to ride it and explore! I'm not sure of my route back home and may take an extra day to explore. I love finding roads I've never traveled and places I've never been to.

The Great River Road - IL 100
While researching the areaI found this informational site - http://www.greatriverroad.com/
Looks like I'll be riding through some beautiful countryside! I'm looking forward to taking my own photos of this infamous road!

That's all I have time for today. Stay tuned for more morning rambles! Time to head to the office to put together the Ride 4 Smiles program. Happy Friday!

5 Weeks From Now

5 weeks from now I will be hopping on a bike and taking off towards St. Louis and the Cardinal Glennon Cleft-Craniofacial Center. I’m working on a possible Meet & Greet with their craniofacial team. If all goes well, FACES client Aiden, a recent patient of craniofacial team member Dr. Lin, will be able to make it for a guest appearance too. Stay tuned!

After the Meet & Greet I will be hitting the road to Nebraska with intentions to get there that evening. Then the FACES Rally starts Friday and it's on til Sunday. Yay! Looking forward to meeting a lot of nice folks - including the people that work so hard to put on the rally like John Eckhardt and Tammy Linner.

Bike: I like my Honda, but honestly, I’d rather ride a comfortable bike to Nebraska. The Honda kills me after 200 miles. Working on a few things right now and hoping for a good outcome. Keep your fingers crossed! I will keep you posted.

I just love an adventure!
